AF ARCH. / CLIENT INFORMATION

Terms of service

Version dated 12 September 2026

A clear brief, an agreed price and open communication. These terms explain our approach to consultations and projects; your specific scope is always defined by your offer and agreement.

1. Service provider

Ing.arch. Alžbeta Francisciová - AFarch, Company ID 55889832, Tax ID 1128414672, business address Mikovíniho 31/15, Košice – Západ district, Slovakia. Not VAT registered. Studio: Hríbová, 040 11 Košice – Lorinčík. Contact: info.afarch@gmail.com.

2. Initial meeting and Architect’s Advice

The initial meeting and site visit for a planned design in Košice and the surrounding area are free and not charged separately. They establish the brief, scope and next steps towards a quote. They are not a standalone professional advice service with prepared solutions. Meetings elsewhere are arranged individually.

Architect’s Advice is a separate paid service with selected content, duration and price. The client supplies photographs, any available floor plan and questions beforehand so the studio can prepare. The outcome is ideas and recommendations, not a complete design or construction documentation. The service does not oblige the client to commission a design.

If the client and studio agree during the consultation to proceed with a design, the consultation is included in the design fee rather than charged separately. Merely considering further collaboration does not have this effect. A separate offer and agreement define the design scope and fee. Any consultation payment already received is settled in that agreement.

Payment arrangements for a paid service are agreed when it is confirmed. If a booking requires studio approval, it remains provisional until then.

3. Changing or cancelling an appointment

You can manage the appointment through the link in your confirmation. The booking states the deadlines for online cancellation and rescheduling. If changes are no longer available through the link, contact us by email. An unavailable button does not in itself remove any statutory right to withdraw from a contract. Any cancellation fee must be specifically and lawfully agreed in advance; these general terms do not introduce a flat fee.

4. Brief and design scope

An enquiry is non-binding. Once we understand the space and expectations, we prepare an offer. Before paid work begins, we agree the service, deliverables, fee, deadline and cooperation required. The offer distinguishes an initial exploration, a design with layout and visualisations, and more detailed documentation. Photorealistic views, video, bespoke furniture and additional outputs are included only to the agreed extent.

An architectural study is a conceptual document and does not automatically replace all documentation required for a permit or construction. Specialist input, structural engineering, permits, supervision and implementation are assessed per project and agreed separately. A pre-purchase consultation does not itself replace an expert valuation, technical survey or legal ownership checks.

5. Price and deposit

The indicative price list and calculator help estimate a budget. The approved offer determines the binding scope and fee for a particular design. Additional work and costs are agreed first; a changed brief does not automatically authorise an arbitrary price increase.

A 50% deposit is normally payable before design work begins; designs up to €500 are normally paid in full in advance. Different arrangements and due dates may be set out in the individual agreement. The deposit forms part of the total fee. If collaboration ends, it is settled according to the legal basis for termination, services actually provided and applicable law; it is not automatically forfeited in full merely because it is called a deposit.

6. Information, revisions and delivery

We need the agreed measurements, drawings, photographs and brief. We clarify which information has been verified and whether an on-site survey is needed. Clients must be entitled to provide the materials and identify unverified information.

The offer specifies included revisions; normally one round is included. Further changes are agreed in advance according to scope, including any fee stated in the FAQ. Correcting a defect or departure from the approved brief is not a paid change to the client’s wishes.

Website delivery times are indicative. The individual agreement defines the start, deadline and information required. For express delivery, a shorter period and supplement are agreed. If the studio misses the agreed express deadline, it does not charge the supplement or settles any amount already paid. We explain how missing information or changes to the brief affect timing.

7. Handover and use of the design

Deliverables are supplied in the agreed format and scope. Editable working files are not automatically included in every package. Permission to use the design must correspond to the agreed purpose; further use, alterations or use for another project are addressed separately. The client may share materials with contractors within the agreed purpose and licence.

The studio is responsible for its own services; other suppliers are responsible for their independent services under their contracts. Publication of the client’s identity, testimonial or private photographs is not an automatic condition of collaboration.

8. Defects and complaints

If a deliverable does not meet the agreement, write to info.afarch@gmail.com or our business address. Identify the project, describe the issue and the remedy requested. You will receive confirmation and information about the next steps under the applicable rules. These terms cannot exclude mandatory rights relating to defective performance or the studio’s liability.

9. Consumers and distance contracts

For services ordered remotely, consumers generally have 14 days from contract conclusion to withdraw without giving a reason. Notice must be sent in time to our email or address. Starting the service before that period expires requires a separate express request and the relevant information; ordinary privacy acknowledgement does not replace them. Subject to statutory conditions, withdrawal may require proportionate payment for services already supplied, and the right may end after full performance. Payments due for refund following a valid withdrawal are returned within the statutory 14-day period.

Sample notice: “I withdraw from the contract for [service], concluded on [date]. Name and address: […]. Date: […].” Sign a paper notice. Specific statutory situations are assessed under the applicable rules.

10. Dispute resolution

You may first ask us to remedy the issue. If we refuse or do not respond within 30 days, a consumer may, subject to statutory conditions, apply to the relevant alternative dispute resolution body. Information is available from the Slovak Trade Inspection. Your right to go to court remains unaffected.

The individual offer clarifies these terms but may not restrict mandatory consumer rights. Later website changes do not retrospectively change the terms of an existing agreement.
